Did you know, that the Bobble on the top of a hat was actually a functional feature? it was designed to soften the blow when bumping your head when maneuvering through the cramped quarters of a ship or submarine.

We’ve been after these hats since the companies owner Christian came on our Mechanics course and gifted me one. Two or three years later and I still wear the hat most days and I am very happy to have them in stock at Bolt.

Made in Germany the hats are an incredible quality and fit. What I like best is the different weaves which mean the hat stays in shape on the fold lines.

Based on the original WW2 USN Wool Hat.

The style is commonly referred as "watch cap" as it was used by soldiers to protect them from wind and weather when they were on deck for their watch.

This version has a double fold to adjust the rim to wear it either above the ears or to cover them when needed.

It is hand finished, due to the sophisticated knitting technique it will mould to your head just after a few wears.
